Overview

Monument Systems approached Dynascale Technologies in late 2024 with a need for a managed private cloud solution since their on-premises hosted environment was near the end of lifecycle and was never intended for at scale application delivery.

They did not want a public cloud solution with less predictable cost, required design changes, and compliance challenges.

Additionally, they did not have IT staff to help manage the network and systems infrastructure. Aging or less capable infrastructure, limited IT skills to manage, compliance requirements, or being forced to adopt a public cloud design model are common entry points for companies to seek a private cloud solution.

About Monument Systems

Monument Systems, LLC is a healthcare software company that created xpress™, a core claims adjudication system for health plans. Under new management and leadership, Monument partners with health plans that need better servicing, expertise, innovation and automation in claims adjudication management.

We have created a new user experience and are applying innovations to drive higher productivity and quality using the xpress™ claims product. We are expanding our portfolio of products to support health plans of all sizes to automate broader back-office functions such as prior authorizations and enrollment.

The Dynascale Solution

Dynascale managed to meet all of the key requirements presented by Monument Systems since every requirement was included in our portfolio of standardized private cloud solutions building blocks. Monument Systems had an existing on-premises hosted environment where the application was originally developed but it was not built with the necessary level of high availability, remote access, or Internet provider capacity needed for an at scale application delivery.

We then planned and executed a joint project to complete the migration within about 4 weeks. This was technically a new launch of the application for a new customer base, so some elements of the design were not well known in advance. Our teams collaborated by quickly bringing the right resources together and carefully solving each challenge to ensure we kept track of evolving build requirements to deliver on time.

The largest change was designing load balanced secure virtual desktop access for the customer base since it was never built out in the on-premises environment. This type of solution is common and standardized but since this was a green field application delivery there were many requirements that came in as the build progressed and was tested.

Case Conclusion

The project to design, provision, build, and migrate the application was completed on-time and scope despite some challenges due to the limited known requirements for the remote desktop application delivery mechanism for a new customer base.

Dynascale and Monument Systems made a concerted effort to ensure the correct resources were available throughout the engagement. This meant not only engineering resources but management in case an urgent change request it was needed to stay on track.

Dynascale has continued to provide systems engineering support for Monument Systems private cloud, Virtual Desktop, IPSec VPN, Backup, and Disaster Recovery through a cost-efficient professional services add-on.
